- What are Flex classes?
'Flex' is a class that all 6th and 7th students have every other day (alternating with P.E.) in which they receive instruction and support at their current levels of performance. 8th graders may choose to take a flex class as an elective, such as the 8th Model UN Flex option. Usually, a student who is identified as gifted is enrolled in my Flex class, where we meet the IEP minutes and work on IEP goals. However, not all students in my Flex classes are formally identified. They may be in the process or may just be participating for a time for some extra challenges and opportunities.

Are there grades?
Flex classes are not graded in PowerSchool. However, there will be larger project grades and smaller participation and daily activity feedback. Other feedback regarding performance comes from portfolios, rubrics, and regular progress reports. We also use a point system on our Google Classrooms to help keep track of progress.
